BML Biomechanical Heel Wedges are designed to help align the calcaneus (heel) during ambulation to limit excessive pronation or supination, while improving foot function and comfort. They help weak, rotating ankles, reduce wear on shoes and run-down heels, and may also be added to foot appliances with tape or adhesive. These heel wedges are made from long-lasting, shock-absorbing PVC material, available in three densities and two sizes. Wedges slope from side to side and back to front simultaneously.
SMALL: The thickest measurement is approximately .30" and the thinnest measurement is approximately .05". The front-to-back measurement at the widest point is 3-7/8". The wedge sides are not parallel and taper inward from back to front. The width of the front edge is 2-1/16", the width at the widest point is 2-5/16".
LARGE: The thickest measurement is approximately .316" and the thinnest measurement is approximately .04". The front-to-back measurement at the widest point is 4-1/8" and the width is constant (parallel sides) at 2-5/16".
Densities - The material comes in three color-coded densities:
Red (D60) - Very firm with little give. Surface is low friction, almost slick.
Brown (D40) - Soft, with plenty of yield under impact, yet supportive. Surface is high friction, almost non-slip. Our most popular style.
Gray (D20) - Super soft, almost gel-like. Material surface is very high friction, feeling almost tacky.
Price is for one pair of wedges, sloped in opposing directions. To switch between pronation and supination simply switch right to left shoes.
